  5. Here is a recipe a friend gave to me.  I can't vouch that it is a true
  6. story.  Might just be an Urban Myth.

  10. A friend of a friend had lunch at the Hedges at NIEMAN MARCUS in
  11. November, and for dessert she had a cookie.  She thought it was the most
  12. wonderful cookie she had ever tasted and asked if the recipe was
  13. available.  She was told that it was but there was a charge of
  14. two-fifty.  She said that was fine, got the recipe and told them to
  15. charge it to her account.

  17. In December when she got her bill, there was a charge of $250.00.  She
  18. called and told them there was a mistake that the charge should be
  19. $2.50.  She was told there was no mistake, that the charge was correct.
  20. They told her it was a not a returnable item and she would have to pay
  21. the amount charged to her account or become delinquent in payments.

  23. THE BOTTOM LINE IS, SHE PAID!!!!  She wants to get the recipe out to
  24. everyone she possibly can, and asks anyone who gets a copy send it out
  25. to everyone they know.  So, here it is:

  27. NEIMAN MARCUS $250.00 COOKIE RECIPE

  29. 2 cups butter                   1 teaspoon salt
  30. 2 cups sugar                    2 teaspoons baking powder
  31. 2 cups brown sugar              2 teaspoons baking soda
  32. 4 eggs                          4 ounces chocolate chips
  33. 2 teaspoons of vanilla          1 8oz. Hershey bar, grated
  34. 4 cups flour                    3 cups chopped nuts
  35. 5 cups blended oatmeal *

  37. *blended oatmeal: measure and blend in a blender to a fine powder
  38.  
  39. Cream butter and both sugars.  Add eggs and vanilla.  Mix together with
  40. flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda.  Add chips, candy
  41. and nuts.  Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
  42. Bake for six minutes at 375 degrees.  Makes 112 cookies, but recipe can
  43. be halved.
